Prior to his current responsibilities, Mr. Linder worked in investment and advisory roles at industry leading firms including Cushman & Wakefield, BMO Financial Group, and Waterfall Asset Management.
Since 2016, Mr. Linder has been providing boutique research and advisory services focused on improving communities, the built environment, and landscapes for the 21st century.
In 2020, Mr. Linder had the privilege to begin serving as an adjunct lecturer, authoring and teaching courses, mentoring students, serving on committees and workgroups, and enhancing interdisciplinary collaborations at the University of Arizona’s College of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture (CAPLA), and the University of Wisconsin System’s Eco-U™(UW-Green Bay), Cofrin School of Business.
In 2024, Mr. Linder began working to launch CIMBEL. A symbol for new paradigms, CIMBEL, the Center for Innovative Management of Built Environments & Landscapes, is a nonprofit sustainable economic development organization pioneering climate-positive technological management innovations in the real estate industry through education, community development, & entrepreneurship.
Teaching Philosophy:
As an educator, Mr. Linder’s pragmatic teaching philosophy is focused on creating positive outcomes for students and improving diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in the field of real estate, as an interdisciplinary climate-positive STEM field, by creating learning environments that allow for collegial inquiry, debate, and collaboration around sharing resources to reach shared goals.
Education & Affiliations:
Mr. Linder holds a master’s degree in global real estate from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. and a bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, along with having completed additional training in communications, political science, architecture, enterprise risk management, renewable energy, environmental economics, digital transformation, banking, public-private partnerships, and innovation driven entrepreneurship from globally recognized institutions including the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Linder has been a regular attendee at industry conferences and seminars dealing with innovation, economic development, real estate, and the “middle market” economy at-large and he has been a member of the Urban Land Institute, International Council of Shopping Centers, CoreNet Global, The Risk Management Association, the American Bankers Association, the Mortgage Bankers Association, NAIOP, the Association for Corporate Growth, the Private Directors Association, and the American Real Estate Society, and the U.S. Green Building Council.
